Mom Literature

Literature, according to the encyclopedia, is any written work with artistic value. It may be fiction, poetry, drama, criticism, or general information. Mom literature are written art works that are especially made for mothers, either by people who wants to be mothers or those who already are mothers.

One of the most difficult stages to handle a child is during their toddler stage, because of their tantrums, social obedience and eating problems. Good books to include in Mom literature are Tracy Hogg, Melinda Blau’s books, entitled ““Secrets of the Baby Whisperer for Toddlers” and “Secrets of the Baby Whisperer: How to Calm, Connect, and Communicate with Your Baby”. They will surely help you guide and manage your toddlers to behavior more appropriately. Cynthia Catlin’s books, entitled “Toddlers Together” and “More Toddlers Together: The Complete Planning Guide for a Toddler Curriculum” also include a variety of fun activities to enhance the toddler’s cognitive and social skills.

There are also books in the mom literature that have amusing titles. Most of these books are written by teenagers or for teenagers and their mothers. “Do I Get My Allowance Before or After I’m Grounded?: Stop Fighting, Start Talking, and Get to Know Your Teen” by Vanessa Van Petten is a refreshing book written by a teenager, especially written for parents to understand  the behaviors of their teenage kids and how to approach them without making a fight. Other funny-titled books are: “Take Out Your Nose Ring, Honey, We’re Going to Grandma’s: Hanging In, Holding On and Letting Go of Your Teen” by Carleton Kendrick and “Get Out of My Life…. but first could you drive me and Cheryl to the mall?” by Anthony E. Wolf, Ph.D.

Jayne Jaudon Ferrer’s books entitled, “Dancing with My Daughter” and “A Mother of Sons” are not typical “how-to” books, rather it contains short poems that will inspire mothers throughout their lives with their children. Some poems may even help mothers reminisce some of their experiences with their children when they were still young. The short poems in this mom literature are great for working mothers who only have time to read for a minute or two.

“Chicken Soup for the Mother’s Soul 2: 101 More Stories to Open the Hearts and Rekindle the Spirits of Mothers” by Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, Marci Shimoff, Carol Kline  is another mom literature  that contains heart-warming and inspirational stories about mothers and their real-life experiences. This will surely tickle a mother’s heart into tears and their bones into laughter and will lead you wanting for more.
